In 1922, the first group of six Salesian Sisters arrived in India and established the congregation's charism in Tanjore, Tamil Nadu. Over the past century, the Salesian Sisters have grown to over 2,000 members, working across seven provinces in India.
Their mission spans a wide range of services
- Educating children and youth in rural and urban schools and colleges.
- Supporting marginalized children and youth through homes for street children.
- Providing vocational education for school dropouts.
- Empowering marginalized women in rural and urban communities through skill development and outreach programs.
